Whitley Bay’s Newest Dog Friendly Bar & Restaurant!

Whitley Bay’s Newest Dog Friendly Bar & Restaurant!

At the beginning of the year you might have noticed a lot of work going on around Station road. I’m sure if you live in Whitley Bay, you get just as excited as me when something new is arriving at our coastal town! Seeing that it was going to be Horticulture got me so excited!

This week we decided to test it out to give you an insight into the latest, coolest & most dog friendly bar in town!

I’m sure as you’re all aware - I’m obsessed with my dogs. If you didn’t already know that, I think the easiest way to explain it would be that I built a business around them. Due to this fact, I’m always looking for dog friendly bars & restaurants where I can bring them along and include them in our nights out. When I saw that Horticulture announced they were going to be dog friendly, I knew I had to pop along!

Myself, Ginola & a few friends decided to go for our tea and this is what we found. As always their decor looked fabulous - But as a dog owner the first thing I noticed and was extremely happy with was the amount of space between tables. It wasn’t too crowded and Ginola had plenty of room to sit, lay down, sniff at our food & relax. All of the staff were so lovely & welcoming and they all made a fuss of little miss attention seeker!

Once Ginola had settled down, we started out with a few cocktails which were absolutely Devine! Our party consisted of a dog owner, a new mam, a mam with a night off & a preggo - Safe to say we had a varied selection of drinks and they pleased every one of us!

Their tapas style menu was something we were really happy with as it meant we could grab a few different things & all share - The food was nothing short of awesome!

We ordered eight dishes for four people and it did us nicely. Our consisted of Red Pepper Humous with Focaccia, Padron Peppers, Sticky Soy Shiiktaki Mushrooms, Halloumi Fries, Baked Camembert with Truffle Bread, Parmesan Potatoes, Sticky Indian Chickpea Fritters & Flat Iron Steak with Nduja butter.

The answer is yes - It was all as good as it sounds!

On our way out we made sure to stop by the bar and grab some familiar dog treats 👀 Our 100% meat Pheasant & Partridge Sausage Slices can be found in the same place as your cocktails so both you and your dog can enjoy something delicious!

If you’re trying Horticulture, make sure you take your best mate with you and tag us if they’re trying our ever so popular training treats!
